With so much uncertainty in the world right now, it is more important than ever that we all come together and play our part in minimising the impact of the Coronavirus on the economy and our personal lives. The number one priority right now is to help the most vulnerable.
While social distancing is the recommended course of action, there are still a number of ways you can help friends, family, and other locals until more long-term advice is provided. Cars and other vehicles can provide much-needed support and here are just a few ways that you and a vehicle can help out your community during coronavirus.
Contribute to local social services
From services like the National Care Force to local charities in your area, there are thousands of different services that are looking for assistance at this time. You could help by getting shopping, dropping off prescriptions or even just to help people get some fresh air and exercise.
Lend your car to help others visit those in need
In extreme times like these, we see how important a means of clean, private transportation having can be. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to a car or vehicle, so something incredibly useful you can do is lend your car so those without one can get around when travel is essential.
Donate to your local foodbanks
Panic buying and stockpiling is counter-productive, and those with excessive non-perishable food and sanitary products should donate to food banks that are running desperately low. You can find out what your local food bank needs here on the Trussell Trust website. Stay safe and healthy and keep checking government guidance for more information.
If we work as one, we will all come out of this stronger and more resilient than ever before.
