Tempcover App

You can get temporary car insurance and temporary van insurance on the Tempcover app. Policies can last from one hour to 28 days, with a minimum of 1 day (24 hours) eligible for 30% off the Tempcover fee.

Policies are available 28 days in advance of the start date.

30% off the Tempcover fee will be automatically applied on every 1- to 28-day policy you buy. The Tempcover fee is the Tempcover’s cost for administering your policy. The 30% discount applies to this cost only.

It’s free to download the Tempcover app via the Apple Store or Google Play. Just download the app to your phone, fill in a few simple details, get a quote and you’ll be ready to hit the road.

First, download the Tempcover app via the Apple Store or Google Play. Once you have downloaded the app, you will be asked for some details to create your account. Log in to the account using these details and you’ll be on your way to getting your first quote.

You’ll also be able to see previous drivers you’ve insured, all your important documents in one place and add new vehicles. Our app makes it easy to get instant insurance on the go.

Once a policy has been purchased it cannot be changed or amended. It can be cancelled but you will not receive a refund. Your policy documents will be included in the Policies section of the app.

You can only obtain a quote from Tempcover using a UK/NI/EU or EEA licence. However, if during the application process Tempcover, or our Insurers, need to perform any additional validation checks, these can only be successfully completed with a UK Passport.

To delete your account, head to the account section of the app and scroll to the bottom. Tap where it asks if you want to delete your account. Tap continue once you have read the pop-up message. Please be aware any personal data linked to policy records will be kept for up to 7 years in line with our privacy policy. If you have any issues, contact our Customer Experience team.

If you can’t download the Tempcover app, your phone may not reach the minimum requirements needed. Contact our Customer Experience team if you are having any issues and we will do our best to resolve them.

Yes, the Tempcover app is safe and secure. You can either use a 6-digit pin or your phone’s biometric technology to access the app.

All you need is the registration number of the vehicle you want to get cover for, the length of time you want, a few personal details and your driving licence number.

We currently accept payment via credit or debit card only.

Yes, you will receive a push notification just before your policy is due to expire. You will have time to arrange and buy a new policy, if needed.
