If you want comprehensive cover for a between 1-28 days, it really is the ideal choice. Still not sure if it’s right for you? Here are just some of the many reasons for choosing temporary cover…
With cover available for as little as one day, a short-term policy is the best option in an emergency. Whatever the circumstances, if you need to drive a vehicle at short notice, getting instant cover is incredibly helpful.
One day insurance can also be useful for a range of non-emergencies as well. You could be picking up your new car or just borrowing one from a friend. Whatever the circumstances, you need to be properly insured to drive another car.
A temporary policy covers you drive the vehicle anytime you need while still protecting the vehicle owner and their car.
Most young people want to get behind the wheel the day they turn 17, but learning to drive can be expensive. One way to reduce the cost is to have private lessons with friends or family.
Many drivers are reluctant to allow a learner to practice in their car but with our learner's insurance you get piece of mind as we cover it all:
o The learner
o The vehicle
o The vehicle owners’ insurance policy
o The vehicle owners’ no claims discount
You can purchase short term learner drivers insurance that’s specifically designed to fit the needs of learners. Cover’s available for up to 3 months and lets you get that crucial practice you need, without affecting the car owners’ insurance premiums.
Drivers under 25 often face high car insurance costs and as many don’t actually own their own car, an annual policy is often impractical. Having insurance that works around your schedule means you never have to pay for cover you don’t want.
Getting a quote is simple and because cover is instant from the time you select, it can even be done at the last minute. For young driver’s home from university, planning a holiday or just borrowing a parent’s car, short-term cover is the easiest and cheapest way to be fully insured.
If you’re planning the road trip of lifetime or just heading to the countryside, you’ll want to be sure you’re covered for all eventualities. Whether you’re driving at home or in the EU, a short-term policy offers comprehensive cover and a range of affordable optional extras including roadside breakdown assistance from the AA.
If you’re one of many people who like to share the driver’s seat during long holiday journeys, you can even add a second named driver to the policy. This can be a real life saver in emergencies or when the main driver gets too tired to continue.
Temporary car insurance covers both drivers and because it’s a separate policy, any no claims discounts are protected, giving you complete peace of mind while on the open road.
Our lives are often unpredictable but with temporary car insurance, you get flexible and reliable cover for many everyday tasks. From one day jobs like borrowing a car to a month long driving holiday, it’s the easiest way to get comprehensive cover on a short-term basis.
Getting a temporary policy means you don’t have to worry about affecting any existing insurance you might have. Not only will it save you the time and effort it takes to adjust your annual insurance but because your no claims discounts are protected, you could also save yourself money in the future.
Without the constraints of an annual policy, you’re able to get covered as and when you need it. This means you're insured for those jobs you’ve planned for and even the things you haven't.
Temporary car insurance can be incredibly useful for a wide range of reasons and usually cover is available to most drivers. You can expect to be insured if you are:
o Aged between 17 and 75 years old.
o The holder of a UK driving licence, EU driving licence and a UK provisional driving licence.
o A driver with penalty points - time limits and certain restrictions do apply.
o Looking to insure a vehicle valued at a minimum of £500. The maximum claim for a vehicle is capped at between £40,000 and £65,000 depending on the insurer chosen.
o Wanting to add an additional driver to the policy.
While a short-term insurance policy is suitable for a large number of situations, there are unfortunately some occasions when we won’t be able to offer you cover. We can’t offer you temporary car insurance in the following circumstances:
o No car modifications allowed (except for those designed to aid disabled drivers)
o Left-hand drive cars (we do insure left-hand drive motorhomes)
o Cars with more than 8 seats in total
o Cars that have been Hired and/or Used for Taxi, Courier or Home Delivery
